E-commerce search in Romanian

Română

Romanians rarely type diacritics. Your catalogue is full of them. That mismatch is where results go missing.

How shoppers actually type

Real query shapes from Romanian storefronts, and what each one has to match.

Synonym groups are configured once in the dashboard. Everything else works out of the box.

What goes wrong without it

Diacritics are skipped almost by default — 'camasa' for 'cămașă', 'rochie neagra' for 'rochie neagră'.
Two encodings of the same letters are in circulation: comma-below ș and ț, and the older cedilla ş and ţ. Feeds from different sources carry both.
Product feeds mix accented and unaccented spellings across brands and categories, so even an internally consistent shopper hits inconsistent data.
Everyday retail vocabulary is informal: 'adidasi' is a category to a shopper and a brand name to a search engine.

How SearchX handles it

Diacritic-insensitive matching in both directions. Typed bare or fully accented, a query returns the same results.
Comma-below and cedilla forms normalise to the same term, so an inconsistent feed still searches consistently.
Typo tolerance of one to two characters on top of the diacritic handling.
Synonym groups map informal terms — 'adidasi' to 'pantofi sport' — without touching the catalogue itself.

The widget in Romanian

The widget interface ships in Romanian and is fetched at runtime, so it adds nothing to your bundle.
Diacritics are correct throughout the interface, using the comma-below ș and ț.
Reword any label with a custom locale file if your brand voice calls for something different.
